No matter where the call of the wild takes you, the Magma Crossover Single Burner Firebox is reliable and easy to use. For maximum portability and convenience, the firebox can run on 1-lb propane cylinders or 20-lb propane tanks. Once hooked up, the 15,000-BTU, high-efficiency burner is ignited by single-click piezo ignitions that require little effort and even less hassle. More specifically, no batteries needed!

Look closer, though, and you will find even more thoughtful touches that make the Magma Crossover an adventure-ready outdoor cooker. A built-in wind deflector protects the flame from breezy interference, while the altitude adjustment system ensures the flame stays consistent at different elevations. Handy access holes allow you to view the burner and light it manually if needed, and the front panel is ventilated to keep the controls cool while in use. Best of all, every last detail is housed in a corrosion-resistant, 304-grade stainless steel body with a heat-resistant, thermoplastic handle and controls. That is a long-winded way of saying this premium outdoor cooker is a tank ready for any excursion.

Convenient Prep, Cooking, & Cleanup Features

Cooking on the go without usual kitchen amenities is anything but easy, and Magma had that very fact in mind when designing the Crossover. The fold-out shelf, for example, holds up to 25 lbs, more than enough for most food-prep tasks. When the firebox is not in use, the shelf folds over the burner to serve as a protective lid amid the harsh outdoor elements. The unit also features an attachable propane-cylinder holder to keep 1-lb bottles secured and at a 35-degree angle for optimal gas flow. As if the Magma Crossover was lacking in convenience, the stainless steel grate can be removed for easy cleaning, as can the dishwasher-safe drip pan for use with a Crossover Accessory Top (sold separately, but no less awesome).

One Firebox, Multiple Cooking Options

OK, this is where the Magma Crossover really shines. Remember how we said the Crossover Single Firebox is part of a modular cooking system? We have already covered its as-is use as a powerful stove, but things get interesting when you add any of the separately-sold Crossover Accessory Tops. A juicy burger, for instance, is attainable with the Grill Top. In the mood for pancakes? Then a Griddle Top is your ticket to flavorful flapjacks! Cravings for seared salmon are fixed by the Plancha Top, while pizza lovers will be glad they had the Pizza Oven Top in tow. And if you just so happen to collect them all well, then everyone will be satisfied when your crew goes camping!

Set It Down, Stand It Up, or Mount It

Modular design also means varied setup options, starting with the as-is configuration as a tabletop stove. Attaching a Quad Pod Stand, however, allows you to place the Magma Crossover Single Firebox just about anywhere. For a more stationary setup, a Hitch Slide Mount connects the unit to a trailer hitch when you are stopped for lunch, while a Surface Slide Mount does the same for the side of an RV or boat. Both the stand and mounts are sold separately, though they are well worth the investment if you are never quite sure where adventure will take you.
